While walking round the back streets I saw a very plain church from the outside so went in and found that the service of Mass was going on. I went in and sat at the back listening to the service and was surprised that it seemed very similar to the Anglican communion service. At the end of the service I was able to take photos and then the church was locked up, not like the others as they were kept open for most of the day. The church had some beautiful stained glass windows throughout. There was a distinct contrast between the cathedral, the Church of St Francis and this church, the church of San Juan Bautista. The alter holds the cross from the Battle of Salta in 1813 and was placed there by General Belgrano to honour the soldiers who died in the battle.
