The zodiacs and runabout were put in the water at 0815 hrs for us to have a chance to go round the ship while it was under sail in Paradise Bay. Normally we only see the ship when it is at anchor and we are on shore or in the zodiacs going there or back. It was a good chance to see the ship under sail.
In the afternoon we went to Neko Harbour and walked round Neko Bay, the only time we were actually on the Antarctic Continent. Neko Harbour was discovered by a Belgian explorer and named after a Scottish whaling boat that sailed in the area between 1911 and 1924.

In the evening six or seven whales were seen so Bengie, the marine biologist, went out in the zodiac to try and get skin samples from them, which he did from two of the whales.
